STEEL FLOW DIAGRAM

SCRAP METAL
In steel mills, scrap yards accumulate complex metal waste such as rolling mill rolls, tundish and solidified pig iron. To recycle them as a cold charge, precise and efficient cuts are required.
Trefimet's TR-38, TR-50, TR-75 and ULTRAOXIBAR thermal lances offer fast, clean and controlled cuts, ideal for hard materials and non-ferrous alloys. This improves operational efficiency, reduces waste and facilitates more sustainable recycling.
COKE OVENS
Heat Recovery coke ovens require frequent cleaning of their lower ducts, where blockages accumulate due to landslides or fused silica rocks. Failure to clean them can result in thermal failures that can cause serious collapse of the furnace structure.
Trefimet's thermal lances -TR-38, TR-50, TR-75, HYPERLANCE and ULTRAOXIBAR- are ideal for this task due to their high power and efficiency in the removal of obstructions.
BLAST FURNACE
During blast furnace tapping, the initial borehole often fails due to the hardness of the pig iron. To open the passage, long tube trains are used, which means long operating times.
Trefimet's Oxibar and Superoxibar thermal lances offer a more efficient solution, thanks to their power and variety of sizes adaptable to the required diameter, facilitating the opening of the casting channel with greater speed and precision.
LADLE REFINING
After the pig iron has been bled, the ladles can become encrusted, making drainage difficult. To ensure proper flow, a thermal lance that blows oxygen into the ladle is used. A ceramic-coated lance and, in some cases, a special extension is recommended for greater resistance to contact with pig iron or slag.
Trefimet offers the ideal thermal lances for this operation: SUPEROXIBAR, available in 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" ceramic versions, with special extension option.
